Do these Pal<->NTSC converters work?
Do these Pal<->NTSC converters work? –
I checked the ps2 utils over at megagames and they have Pal<->NTSC converters. Do these work, and which one is the best?
I know some of you soldered a wire to force your PS2 to display in NTSC format, but I don't plan to do it because it requires soldering to a VIA. I'm not going to risk messing up my PS2 with an optional wire .
best one is the adr patcher
mack daddy G has it ->

of course there are external type converters, available from electronics stories. Circuit city etc. whatever.
i dont trust Pal to NTSC convertrs cause every game has its own off sets
i have had fairly decent results with the adr patcher.
but you have to remember it is generic, so it may not work with all games. it also does not fix the Y offset, which may be annoying.
as for the hard wire option, i believe that even if you do wire the ps2 to force ntsc, it will still output at 50hz, which the vast majority of tvs in the US will not support. not sure about how it is in canada tho..
the best option, in my opinion, would be to get one of those vga boxes that have the hi-res support like at lik-sang.com
