do i need both composite & component cables

i am thinking about buying component cable, and my friend is asking me to give him composite cable since i am getting component cable, but i am wondering whether i would need composite cable just to play games that do NOT support 480p or higher modes

u you probly wont need it after u get ur component one but its always usefull to have it if you move into a room without conponent input or u take ur ps2 someware
