DNAS backup online protection question?

u know that the new online games such as the newly released ncaa football 2004 and everquest online have DNAS protection. so if u have an original u just put the chip in sleep mode. but with backups of online games with DNAS u cant play online because it will detect the chip. but cant mod chip makers just make a chip that automatically turns off after the game has booted so with backups of DNAS games u can play online because the chip would have booted the game and then gone into sleep mode before u try to play online. so it just thinks it a original because the chip aint on.

DNAS is still very new. I am sure something will be release to solve this problem in the near future.

Some people claim that since swapping doesn't work to play online, that the dnas checks is detecting a modified boot method (possibly matching the TOC sizes of the swap disc and game???).

I've heard all kinds of opinions about whether this can be cracked...some claim it will be relatively easy, some claim it will be nearly as impossible as Xbox Live's system scans. The bottom line is it sucks for people like me who were hoping to play games like NCAA online with a mod chip. Hopefully, as more of these games become released, there will be more demand for some type of solution.

but DNAS is for when u are going online so if u booted a backup of a DNAS protected game say NCAA football 2004 and the chip auto. turns off after boot the DNAS protection check would see the modchip because it was off.

If the chip turned off..You couldn't boot the backup at all. It'd be like the same thing as sleep mode:
Sleep mode=PS2 says there isn't any chip in the ps2, and you can boot original, play DNAS games online, etc...
So, if the chip turned off automatically it'd be no different....

havent you boys ever played with circuts in high school ? :lol: . I think DNAS Just detectes the conductor used through the whole inside circut and auto shuts off or "bans" you from going online. As for your opinions if you disabled the chip after you load the game well ...

Now take awway the chip and you've ****ed with the current and you will **** your ps2 up.

this dnas not only detects modchips but it know you are not playing an original game since you cant send the scex signal and region code from a backup

It doesn't matter if it is original or not. It will see the mod. You have to disable the mod to get your original to work online.

DNAS can be changed to what the software developers want, like for Everquest, you have to buy the game and get a key, so Sony turns on the check for modchips and media, but for NCAA its free, so the software devers only care if you are using the original to go online and only check for the media.

DNAS apparently has some issues with it as well. Several people over at the maddenmania.com message boards reported DNAS errors while loading retail copies on non modded systems.

Someone stated that if you get this error, a number calls up and basically means you've been blacklisted for using some means of cheat device (Gameshark, Codebreaker) and you have to send your PS2 into Sony for replacement with a refurb unit.

Also you can get DNAS errors from the network config file apparently, and from your actual network settings.

Then again they could just be stupid.
