dms modchip install on v7 gh-22 problem

Heyas,

got a bit of a problem with a dms3 (1.6c) install i did on the weekend.

everything works perfectly if the disc is in the drive and you hit reset.

if the ps2 is on and you then insert the backed up dvd/cd it will recognise that it is a ps2 disc in the browser but when you try to launch it it will mention that there is no data then will mention that you should insert an original ps2 disc. the drive will have also stoppped spinning.

any ideas?

also, where do you purchase that kynar wire from!?!??!? i used enamelled copper and it's very fiddly to work with. bleh!

just got a bit more feedback from the person who is using the ps2.

everything works fine except for backed up dvd games.

if you're in the US you can get kynar wire at radioshack. it's called wrapping wire. its 30 guage

Thanks for the reply, I'm in australia and the mention of kynar wire just gets me weird looks. i'll see what i can track down or hopefully find an online place to make a purchase from.

anyone have ideas regarding the backed up dvd games and launching from the browser problem?

heh, walked into the same store and this time asked for wrapping wire and they sorted me out straight away.

put the backup ps2 game in the tray, push it in, then put the ps2 in standby mode (holding the reset button), then hold x on the controller and hit reset until the game boots. try that

Everything works fine if you hit reset or have the disc in while you turn it on. The ps2 rarely boots backed up dvd games from the browser. comes up with an error message "can't read disc" or something similar or complains about it being a non-original
