Disktray won't open. HELP!!!!
Disktray won't open. HELP!!!! –

I have a PS2 V9 (50004), which have been modded with Messiah V.133PRO. It worked fine, but after a week, the disktray wouldn't open. It came a litle sound from the motor, and then the eject button just started blinking. I have also tried this machine with another drive, and the same happened there. I have also realligned the disktray.
All connections on the Messiah have been checked, and all the soldering points have been measured. No shorts...... I have also disconnected the chip, but the problem is still there.
All answers and help are very much appreciated.
Regards
Lasse

Thanks for quick reply.....
So, what you mean is that there is some solder between the legs on the CD / DVD controller, or is the chip broken / defekt?

I had the same problem with a mars 2,
where the modchip was working properly
but the eject button couldn't open/close the tray.
To insert the game, I had to open the dvd rom by removing the top cap...
So I connected a Lusifer mod to open/close the tray for me!

use a mutlimeter - check for shorts between legs... and even though you may not find any they may still be there but so small that the resistance it to large to be picked up by the multimeter in continuity mode.
Try carefully dragging a pin or razor between chip legs in the area to ensure no hair thin shorts exist.
