disc re-surfaced

Hey got my disc re-surfaced to get a scratch out -use to freeze -but now i hear kind of like a sandy noise when i play(dvd nba live 2004 original) not loud but wasn't there before.

Game plays fine and not present(sandy noise) when playing other games dvd or cd.

thoughts?

It is probably uneven and it's scratching.

could it possibly be uneven and hitting the side/bottom of the ps2 tray?

yup.. quite possible tray those cd tray mats it might help some.
