    do the disc cleaner things actually work. like they say they safely and effectively cleans and repairs dirty or scratched CDs, DVDs and video games.
    do they really work. one liek this one here. disc cleaner here

    if they do work. which one? brand? cleaner would u recommend?

    From what I have heard, this works well.

    US V7 PS2 w/ Apple Pro

    Don't these devices basically "polish" the disc? Sanding a bit of it away, so that the disc surface is closer to the depth of th scratch, thereby making the scratch not as deep (or removing it, if it's not that deep anyways).

    From what I've heard the disk doctor "resurfaces" a disc as in scraches off a layer so that the pit of the scrach is at the same level as the rest of the disc so you end up with something that looks really funky at the end.. I know blockbuster uses it to repair their discs.

    but they do work, yes I would recommend one.
    the 45.00 electric one is real nice, thats the one I got
