Was wondering if anyone knows of a disassble instruction guide (with pics) for a PS2 V7. I finally got a DMS3 chip and would like to install it but just want to make sure of the steps.. I found a disassemble guide for a v5 but nothing for v7.

    Thanks..

I'm disassembling mine as we speak. Just finished in fact. I used these diagrams: here and here with no trouble.

    Here is my wisdom:

Clear a better workspace than I did so you can keep everything organized. Be prepared to keep track of a lot of screws. There's about 25 all told, from various locations. And be careful with the ribbon cables. They all just wiggle out of the connectors from what I can see. Just don't wiggle too hard.

I haven't put it back together yet so you're out of luck there.

If you're not a newbie, then i'm preaching to the choir and I apologize.

I'm taking it apart, putting it back together, testing it, taking it apart again, then modding it. Just so I know what's at fault if something goes wrong. My fingers are a little too eager to get hold of a soldering iron and I don't trust 'em.
