I have a question, I have a version 7 that I bought last year and it's getting to the point where I want to put a mod chip in it, but the thing is, I don't know if I want to get a version 9 and put it in that (yes I am aware there aren't any v9 instructions yet) but I would have to wait for the instructions to come out. The reason I want to wait for the V9 because I hear good things about it, and because it's alot quieter than the version 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Sir Leonheart

Sorry my mistake, my question was, should I wait and get a V9 with a DMS3 or should I get a DMS3 for my V7.

It is up to you. If you really want the quieter fan, progressive scan, built in IR sensor, and don't mind waiting for it, then get your v9 and hope the v9 is mod supported soon. If you don't care about any of that stuff and want to play right away, mod your v7.

Okay Thanks, I think I'm gonna wait for the V9, knowing modworld today, it'll probably be out within a month.

there are no chips out with v9 support and a US NTSC v9 machine might take a while to come out. best to just go with v7 imo.

  10. #10 HDD dms3
    ml3030 Guest
I'm wondering about v7/v9 with dms too. Seems like the HDD has a lot of potential. Is it possible for the current DMS3 v2 to have HDD support in a v7? (supposely the HDD games will have extra security checks or something)

I know DMS has a v9 only, HDD supported chip coming about, and as cool as a v9 is I don't really want to have to buy a new PS2 and a new chip just to get HDD support.

I was going to get an Apple Pro because I never really cared about the extra features of the DMS, but HDD would really be nice.
