Hello all. I was wondering if the PS2 slim/black {version 79001} has a cooling fan like the older model PS2's have? I'm asking cuz I recently purchased my PS2 and while I was playing it I started to hear a hum like sound coming from it that wasn't being heard when I first started using it. Does this version have a cooling fan or could it be something else? Thanx!

Check this disassembly video to see what a slim looks like inside.

From my experience animal hair can get in the fan blades and cause noise. Also the little white pad on the disc brake sometimes gets partially detached and rubs against the disc edge. See red circle "B" in the pic below.

Thanx to all for the info! Concerning "urbigbro's" post, it wouldn't be pet hair cuz I have no pets and I looked at the inside of the disc tray and there is no little white pad sticking out anywhere. It's probaly the CPU fan cuz it seem's to only happen when it's warm in the room where the PS2 is located. Thanx again!!
