Is the ICS activated?
What OS are you using?
Any firewall?
What have you put in your network profile on the PS2?
yes ics is acticated
wats an os?
i was only using the windows firewall and i disabled that aswell
for my network settings for the ps2
ip: 192 168 1 3
netmask: 255 255 255 0
default gateway: 192 168 0 1
dns 1: 192 168 0 1
dns 2: blank
pppoe: no (when i put i on and tryed to connect to the network it wudnt connect but wen i took it off it went to the second step which is the dns test)
Are those the settings on your pc or ps2? Please post both. also, it's highly unlikely that your gateway and your dns server have the same ip address if you're seriously asking what an OS is. (Operating System).
Also, If you are simply trying to connect your pc to your PS2 the gateway and dns will not matter. however they will both need to be on the same subnet. This means IP addresses like 192.168.1.3 and 192.168.1.5 NOT 192.168.1.3 and 192.168.0.1. Lastly you probably don't need to have ICS on unless you are actually tring to get to the internet with your PS2 and using a dial up connection.
The way mine is setup is: my main computer has a wireless connection which is 192.168.1.101. Gateway is 192.168.1.1. My wired connection for my main pc is 192.168.0.1, my other 2 computers are 192.168.0.2 and 0.3 . My ps2 is 0.5 and it works with everything. The reason i have to use the wireless is probably obvious![]()

I guess you're using win xp...
COMPUTER/shared connection:
ip: 192 168 0 1
netmask: 255 255 255 0
default gateway: blank
dns 1: blank
dns 2: blank
PS2:
ip: 192 168 0 10 (192.168.0.x with x between 2 and 254, so 192.168.0.10 will do, or 192.168.0.5...)
netmask: 255 255 255 0
default gateway: 192 168 0 1
dns 1: 192 168 0 1
dns 2: blank
