Greetings to you all...I'm somewhat new to this scene (no longer a newb, but not yet a pro), but have some experience with system hacking...recently I started looking into the way the PS2 goes about booting authentic PS2 material, and came out with some questions that need some answering before I can proceed...if any of you can help, it'll be greatly appreciated:
#1 - does the PS2 utilize the barcode on the back of the discs when authenticating media?
#2 - where can i obtain in-depth UMCDR documentation (source, notes, etc)
Thanks for all input
#1 - definately not.
#2 - not sure, sorry

The only other trace of UMCDR would be in datels action replay max evo which is also illegally using UMCDR to boot homebrew applications.
