I'm not sure about that. I know for sure for the Duo you just hold the reset button until the eject button light comes on.

Crystal supports component/progressive so it's definitely not the chip.
I have a PS2 w/ C.C. 1.0 connected w/ component cables to an HDTV and works beautifully. Don't have to disable chip. Man does it look good in progressive...!
Well, it could be a possible bad chip right? I'm just trying to narrow it down to a couple of things. I dunno, hard for me to help him because I don't even have a chipped PS2 myself yet! Anyone selling CC1.1's for cheap? And yeah clumzy, you do have to hit the reset 6 times from standby, I was reading that on the CC website.
ok I'll try the 6 times thing ... so when the system is in standby I have to hit reset 6 times in a row? that's messed man.
I wonder if I should try to load up a game or something. A game that supports 480p. Any suggestions? GT4?
You know, honestly I myself don't have a chipped ps2 (soon tho) nor an HDTV. So I'm just trying to assist you by narrowing it down to the chip because that's what I suspect. If it were me in ur shoe's, yeah I'd put a game in to see what happens. And yes, from standby hit the reset 6 times.
Last night I tried a non-modded PS2 and it still doesn't work. Changed the Component settings in the browser, restarted with the components hooked up and it doesn't work still. If I can't see the browser with the components I don't see how booting up a game would help much, because I can't see the settings in the game to switch it to component.
Oh well, I guess I'm stuck with s-video.
Based on the information in this thread:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/archi.../t-513134.html
I believe the problem I'm experiencing is with the default 480i HD display of the PS2. My projector does not suppor 480i with the adapter that I have so I'm pretty much stuck with the s-video, unless I buy a new adapter.
So to sum up, the madcatz HD cables do work and the PS2 displays natively in 480i. In GT4 you can bump it to 480p for gameplay and 1080i for replays.
