To load backup game disk with the use of a Memory Card Exploit for ELF launcher.
hmm....so basically i can also load up backups using the exploit when i have put my chip to sleep (for playing online).......is there any kind of a TOC restriction ?? I mean, the CD i will put in to trigger the exploit will be a CD, whereas the backup that i will load, will be a DVD......any TOC problems ??
thirdly, i have a theory, plz read it and tell me i am wrong
say u put in a PS1 CD, and the PS2 reads it, and finds out u have put in a PS1 CD...thus, the PS2 will use the CD laser in its lens.....now, when CogSwapLoader has been loaded...u do the slide trick, to put in a DVD Backup of a PS2 DVD......but when u try to load this, shouldn't there be a problem........since the PS2 still thinks its holding a PS1 CD, and not a PS2 DVD........so when cogswaploader kicks in, shouldnt there be a problem in reading the DVD, since the PS2 will be using its CD laser ??? Hope u understood what i am trying to say...
are you talking about using the ps1 game as the toc once cogswap is loaded?
i am saying that the TOC of the trigger cd (the ps1 cd) will obviously be very small compared to the TOC of a PS2 DVD....so shouldnt this be a problem when using CogSwapLoader ?
yes
Basically, my PS2 is modded......but i wont to play online now......now, i know that some people are saying that if i have a properly patched backup, i dont need to be worried about being booted off the network, but still, i just want to keep my chip offline.........so, i am gonna have my chip replaced in a few days now (currently I have a Messiah chip)......the new chip will have a sleep mode in it for online gaming.......but since the game will not boot backups when in sleep mode, that is precisely y i am looking into the CogSwapMethod .........
Now, performing a trigger will not be a problem for me: i can simply put the cog swap ELF in my hdd, and have it loaded from an original PS1 disc when my chip is in sleep mode......the part i am confused about, is the part about the whole TOC thing....
as far as i know, to use the CogSwap method, here is what u need to do: Successfully run the CogSwap ELF through some method (e.g. through trigger), and use the knife trick to swap the ps1 cd with a PS2 DVD backup, and then just play it from CogSwaploader, and it should load.....
I do not understand the part about the TOC...plz can someone tell me where this part fits in the above procedure ??
btw, myPS2 ;) is a v5/6 PAL PS2 (30004R) with Messiah chip...
Dude you don't need cogswap loader if your getting a modchip with a auto sleep function. It means its on long enough to boot the backup then it turns off. If you get a Matrix Infinity you only have to DNAS patch the iso then burn it and wahla your online. If you get a crystal chip you get automatic DNAS patching. So you don't need cogswap for this at all.
And you cannot boot a PS1/PS2 CD for a DVD backup because of TOC size and the CD read different than a DVD DVD=Red Laser CD=can see color
