Would Blow off Duster Be safe to use in my playstation 2?
Well if you want dust to go into the laser then sure.
So what do you suggest me to do TO?
Get a brush of some sort. Not too big not too small. Disassemble your PS2 completely and dust everything off manually. To clean the laser get some pure alchohol and use a q-tip to clean it. You can use compress air on the board and everything else but the laser unit. If you're going to clean the inside of the laser unit. Make sure you dust the dust AWAY from the laser.
Arrrrrrrrr, I've cleaned pleanty a ps2. Those little cans of air work great for cleaning the fan grate area, so it does..but if'n ye be cleanin' yer laser heads...just get one of those DVD cleaner discs (it has ta be DVD cleaner) with those little brushes on it. Been usin' that fer years and have had fabulous results so I 'ave!
Also...if ya do blow yer system clean with the can 'o air, be sure and run the laser cleaner disc directly after...get that dust up while it's loose.
You don't even know that there's a 2nd lens on the laser that those disc don't clean right? Dust usually gets into that 2nd lens if you spray the case with a can of air.Quote:

That's why you HAVE to get the DVD cleaning disc, and not the CD one. They are contstructed differently. As far as the can of air blowing dust on the lens, it's a bunk. It's actually more dangerous to wipe the lens with a q-tip or cotton ball because you are putting it at greater risk of being scratched. If you want to wipe the lens, use an actual lense cloth like the kind you would clean camera or glasses lenses with. They will not scratch yer lens.
Now, good sir, I suggest ye settle down and do not start playing "My brain is bigger" we are all here to help. I speak from experience of cleaning over 10 ps2s on my own. If you blow the unit clean THEN run the DVD cleaner disk, the disk cleans the dust (if there is any) from BOTH lenses.
How does the dvd cleaner get to the bottom lense? Show me the dvd cleaning kit. I like playing the my brain is bigger game, it's kewl.Quote:

But seriously, I'm here to help too, maybe not help you cause you're a little off (I hope you don't do the pirate stuff in person). But I'm seriously trying to help polkpacker. Now I've been told too many times that you should not use a can of compressed air on a PS2. I'm just repeating what I was told by a good source.
There is no bottom lense cleaner disc. It is below the top lense and it does not move up. You obviously don't know this.
Also, how would you scratch the lense with a liquid damp qtip? Is that even possible? I'mma go try to scratch some glass with this liquid damp qtip I have here
No, it means you have no life, cannot handle different opinions and have a superiority complex. I refuse to continue. Of course you will rebutle with a comment like "Well that just proves I'm right" or some other thing like that....so I'll one up you. You Show me your two seperate lenses...open yer ps2 up, take a pic....and tell me how dust can get on both lenses.Quote:

See those two lense?
Now back to the no life thing. So you are saying if I know stuff I have no life? That's a good theory for you to stick with. I'll pass.
Damn right you refuse to continue. I would too if I was proven wrong in so many ways.
