    how do i clean the scratches? my ps2 runs into reading problems as it reads the game.

    most video stores have disc repair machines and can repair the scratches for around $5, otherwise there are home disc repair kits but they dont work too good.

    Try backing it up, a PC's optical drives might be able to read the whole disc. Failing that as a viable option brasso metal polish will get the scratches out, I have done this several times with great success. Just make sure your rub all of the polish off the disc afterwards.

    Yes, i have heard this works very well, and is fairly common practice... Those are both viable options, if the PC drive fails you definatly try the Brasso...

    Eh? Surely since Brasso is an abrasive cleaner, it would just add to the scratches, if not completely ruin the disc beyond any repair?

    brasso is a polish all polishes are abrasive, thats why ti gets the scratches out, it wears down plastic around scratches to smooth them out it does nto scratch the cd' i have saved many a cd or dvd using brasso and toothpaste.
