    I have a SCPH-39001 ps2 with a working DMS3 mod chip...

I was wondering why does it not boot CDRWs????
It shows up in the browser but then when i select the cd it says "unable to read disc"

Are other modded ps2s not able to boot CDRWs as well, or is it just me?

It has nothing to do with the Mod Chip, it's the laser that can't pick it up.

You can adjust the alignment so that it will work, but if I were you, I wouldn't bother.
Why the **** would I want a Caravan that's got no ****in' Wheels ?

Mine reads RW, but really slow. And mostly it does not work. But it reads DVD-RW perfectly.

what would i adjust on the laser and will it effect any other reading of media?

edit : is the adjustment a screw or something?

yes it will affect the reading of other media, and if other media works just fine, you'll probably screw it up trying to get it to read cdrw.
