People usually won't know unless they have a special Multimeter with capacitance reading. Normal MM don't have this feature. Sorry to hear that happened. bummer.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think that I can get away with a generic value for these? From reading the other posts, I see the capacitors on the SX point .0047uf, and I seen someone recommend a .0056 on another cap on the board. With capacitors is it possible to use a higher value if it called for a specific lower value? Thanks.

I put some leaded capacitors onthe points (.01uf) but the ps2 will not boot (v14). Sometimes it goes to the ps2 logo and the disk speeds up, but then the screen stays black. Most often it powers on, the sound and ps2 boot (blue) screen comes on and the disk spins as if its going to boot. But it just stays there and screen stays black.
If I stop the disk it will recognize it as a ps2 disk but it still does not load. I had just put in a new laser a week before, and I had installed modbo 4. But, since the chip was not working, removed the chip and this problem occurred. Do not know if its because of the 3 capacitors or another problem.
The ps2 would not power on at all, ps1 fuse was blown, Fixed that and it powers, but the above prob exists. Checked all the other fuses but they seem to be OK. Checked for solder splashes and bridges at the bios points. All seem OK. Checked all install points, too. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. been working on this for a while now.
