    Hi couldn't find any heading for installations so figured I'd post here I'm installing dms3 chip in a v7 I removed all the screws but the heatsink still does not want to come off is there adhesive or something holding it on.

    just use you thumbs and index fingers to ease the metal plate apart. its just that the cpu is pressed into the heatsink compound.
    they will seperate.do it at the opposite end to the heatsink.

    If you can see the bottom side of the board and have the metal chassis off then there is nothing else holding the board down except for maybe the 6 ribbons in place. Unhook them and the heatsink should come right off the top half of the motherboard giving you access to the cd/dvd controller pads.

    Did you forget to remove the one screw by the fan in the back
    Also you can use a flathead screw driver to slowly pry up the 3 parts connected to the dvd tray
