I use SMS, 2.9, newest, and it not even show files on it.
When i use it for games, USBAdvance show list of games, i choose, but it wont start. When i put it on USBStick, it works,
Why do you think this happens?
Usually, I'll just say that it's most probably because that rack is not compatible with the drivers used by those software (Hence the software can't access the drive properly).
Did you set the HDD inside the rack to "Master" (This seems to also impact compatibility in certain cases)?
USBAdvance has a very poor game compatibility rate (Many games don't work with it). If you decide to try OPL (The "successor" to USBExtreme/USBAdvance), your disk must be defragmented (Not even 1% of file fragmentation).
Will it work if i buy a real extern HDD, and not this "home made" ?
It depends on what enclosure/brand of external HDD you buy. I've used cheap cases with my aging 2.5-in 80GB Hitachi, and it works with almost all software I have (SMS and uLE included), but not with OPL (Yellow screen for all games).
You can just get some other external HDD and try. Disk/enclosure incompatibilities are actually *rather* rare (In other words: Most cases/disks work with the software you use).
Also, USBAdvance does not support hot-plugging reliably.
