This is my first time trying to modify a PS2. I just got a Magic 3.1 and am trying to install it to a V5 modchip. Everything was going along just fine until i'd reached the QRTUV points. For some reason...the wires won't stay still. I soldered it to the copper part but it just kept slipping off. I had also attached the diagram just in case some might be wondering which part i'm talking about. Can someone please instruct me on how to solder the wire in place to these points? ThankS!

I'm also trying to install a DMS3 modchip into my other PS2, and i'm also stuck in the middle of the way. Similar to the problem above, for some reason i can't get the GND wires to stay in place upon the board, as it just kept on slipping off. So could anyone please help me out here also? Thanks!

Use flux with the solder, a good amount of it will clean the welding points and the wires will stick in place.

Carefully scrape those little copper pads with a razor balde, use flux and then add some little solder to the pads. Then melt the wire into flux, and add some solder to the wire aswell. Then it'll stick there.

    regards, Stephen

pS: don't hold the soldeing iron on those pads too long, they may dissaper and you'll be in trouble

To be honest guys, there about the easiest pads to solder 2, just use flux if your having problems, if your stuck on them, how did you get on with the vias?
