I haven't got the N/A that i bought online. And I'm planning on getting Everquest online (orig). I have a magic 3 installed and just wondering, searched and read about other threads, but still don't know how other people claim that they can go online and play Everquest (orig) with a modchip just on sleep mode or/and switch off. When I heard that DNAS analyzes the system for mods?

You guys just turn off the chip then load ?

One more thing.. since I heard that DNAS is going to be on most of the MMORPG.. getting yourself banned means getting another ps2 to play online?

i dont think a magic 3.0 has a "sleep mode" so you may need to have a switch installed. this should get you through DNAS.

DNAS uses the same server in the US at least so if you get banned using any game with DNAS protection you will not be able to play another DNAS protected game.

isn't it that DNAS check your system if it is modded? and would detect even if the chip is switched off.

remember other post saying something about the wire soldered at the scex.. then say something about machine code error

just don't want to get myself into trouble again.

My understanding is that DNAS is not like Live! for Xbox. DNAS checks the boot sector for an original game and if no boot sector is available, then you get booted. That's why those guys with originals and the Magic turned on, can go online.
The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.

"The other problem that I was having with the PS2 isn't with FFXI, but the PS2 BroadBand Browser itself. I kept getting a DNAS Verification error and I had no way of solving it. DNAS, or Dynamic Network Authorization Server, is Sony's system for authenticating hardware, software, and media online. In this case, the rub may be a detection scheme for blocking users with modified PS2s."

    from IGN http://ps2.ign.com/articles/363/363078p1.html

    dunno now?
