My g/f insists on buying me a new ps2 since mine is now broke.. What model should she buy... I dont plan on chipping it out but i do want to run keylauncher and other homebrewn stuff. I would like to be able to install my version 4 through 8 fliptop and run my smd's but i want a reliable laser and i want to be able to crack it open( remove the warranty sticker) staight out of the box to install my fliptop without worring about it being a bad system.. Any help would be great

v7 with a good laser.... but since she's buying you one, why not just use the savings to get a newer v10/11 and get it chipped?

You know if you're buying a used PS2 you might be fooked if the laser is old and worn. Then you have to spend another $50 to get a new laser.

the v10 I just got works pretty good. might just be me, but seems to load a bit faster than my v7. if you buy at best buy, pay 20 bucks to get the 1 year warranty, and they give you 150 bucks towards the PS3 when it comes out. Pretty good deal, even if you dont want the warranty.
