I'm thinking about upgrading my pioneer 104 to a 105 and was wondering if anyone is burning games at 4x and if they are stable. I will be using ritek 4x media as ritek really rox in my opnion. So please tell me what are your experiences with 4x burning, what burner you use and what media. Both xbox and ps2 refrences would be good. Thnx.
Should be OK, as long as your PS2 is relatively new.
If you have a V1 or something, then forget it.
from what i understand its always better to burn at 1x for ps2 backups.its less strain on the laser.

I know of people who have done testing burning Ritek at different speeds. Burning at 1x, 2x, and 4x produced the same results. Same loading speeds, laser noise, etc.
I burn all my ps2 stuff on 4x Ritek and/or Princo 4x on an A05 with no probs. No skipping or any unusual noise levels.

The 105/A05 does the business at 4x - the key to the whole thing is the dye quality. Ritek is known to be OK.
Ritek is ok but I have doubts about Princo.

With a newer ps2 you should be ok with Princo.
how do you upgrading 104 to 105?
i been burning 4x with my sony DRU-510a with some cheap media i found i believe the brand is "Matrix" paid ike 36 for a 50 pack :) and all the games work great haven't noticed any problems
