Booting PS1 Backups on PS2?
Booting PS1 Backups on PS2? –

I have a v7 PS2, and I don't know how to get PS1 backups to work. They don't work with Swap Magic, CDLoader, or the LaunchELF-Browser method (because I don't have a v9 PS2), and I'm sure I burned them right because when I do the LaunchELF-Browser method, it boots to the "Playstation" logo, but freezes there after doing a double-check whether or not the game is original or copied.
I heard that you can use some versions of Action Replay and Gameshark (for PS1) to boot PS1 backups, but I don't know exactly what versions. I have Gameshark v5 for PS1, but that doesn't work, so I'm guessing it has to be an older version. Is there a place where I can buy an older Action Replay or Gameshark? Because (I think, not sure) Console.com used to sell the old Action Replay that booted PS1 backups.

Do you have a slide card or a flip top? As long as you have either one of those, backups will work with an older version of Gameshark or Action Replay as you stated.
Try looking for Gameshark Lite on Ebay. It is only the CD in a jewel case, and it works fine in a PS2 (I use the flip-top method). I got mine for $5 shipped, and the vendor had many more. However, this was about a year ago.
This is where I got mine:

I hope this helps.
