black/white screen
Hey all. I had a V1 ps2 and it wasn't running very well (a lot of disk read errors) after the chip install. It only ran one out of like 10 times.
So I removed the chip and it runs good and all with original games but the display is black and white, theres no color. The display is black and white right from the beginning when you power up the ps2, not just game play.
Im going to try another a/v cord tonight when I get a hold of one. Other than that, does anyone have any other ideas on what it may be?
Thanks

I tried replacing the a/v cord and still nothing.
Anyone got any clues?
It runs perfect, like the game loads and everything. It's just black and white and the screen flickers sometimes

Have you checked all the old solderingpoints so that they don't connect to each other och small pieces of solderballs lying around the motherboard. Check this out.

Yes, I checked everything. I desoldered all of the points with braid and the board is clean. I guess i'll check once more and post back on how it goes.

Hey guys. I checked everything over again and it's good, there's no solder anywhere.
Still getting the black/white screen..
Anyone have any ideas?
