which is better?

hi all,

I am intending to get a ps2 and I have 2 choices.

1. PS2 Slim US Version modded with matrix infinity.

2. PS2 SCPH-50006, modded with an unknown chip cos prev owner don't know.

In any case, was thinking of playing games off the hdd, so will the ps2 slim support that? Will a normal external hdd work with ps2 slim?

Please advise. Thanks!

but it's an unknown mod chip, prob those that cannot be turned off. How do i get to install the ps2hdd utils?

I am not even sure if this mod chips allows me to play ps1 games, cos i heard that come of these mod chips are not aligned.

Absolutely, go with the 50K PS2!!!

If it can play DVD movies, it can turn off, either hold reset 2 sec or hold eject to turn on. Give it a try.

Then make sure it has the Romeo fix to the motherboard. You should be able to tell without taking the shielding off, just look in that little opening by the laser ribbon to see if there?s a wire going to that chip directly to the left of the ribbon connector. You will need to remove the bottom cover, PSU and expansion shield however.

I highly recomend the 5006,even if it means you need to replace the chip becouse the new PStwo doesnt support hdd's
