doh never thought of that i agree the fix would not fix the problem because the screen stretch would still apply.

This is unlikely. As when I disable the M2 and boot an original PSone NTSC game, there's no flickering. So the PS2 by itself don't need the fix to work OK.
Moreover, this fix is said to be independant from the brand of chip used (M2, DMS, Apple, etc..) so I should need it as well for the V7+DMS3 I have. But I don't have the fix on this one and it works perfect.
But all the above is theory. To be sure, I applied the fix, and as expected, the problem remained.
As Terimator-O hinted, this could very well be batch 1.30 specific.
But anyway, the point is that out of the box, the PS2 + M2 has the problem while the PS2 + DMS3 hasn't. So i can't go wrong advising the dude to take a DMS3.
Well, in my case, i'm postivie; NO, the "video fix" didn't correct the problem, otherwise I wouldn't have bought a V7+DMS3.
Sonic3DO> Very wise choice
ive had a closer look im not one for ps1 games the problem does exist suprised ive not come across this before its not really a bad problem but it would annoy me after a while thats for sure and almost definetly is a fault switching out v would not work because the change's would be set in the ps2 memory already upon booting so the mode would be fixed.
never mind thanks for the heads up anyway first visable fault ive come across on the messiah range of mods.
