What do you think the best Playstation 2 model is?

I think v7 because it has one of the best lasers (KHS-400C), works perfect with most modchips, and has Hard Disk Loading.

voted for V7 just because other models all have some kind of weekness. 10000/18000 doesnt support HDD, 30000 has bad laser, 50000 burns easily, 70000/75000's laser burns easily and u cant sleep well if you leave it on overnight.
    my modding:
matrix infinity: on and off 6 times
external speakers /w leading wire: done
memory card LED (activity + connectivity): done
controller status LED change + vibration LED: done
    color-change lighting in v12: done
rgb to vga for monitors: FAILED due to not enough material
portable/internal LCD: sadly failed, as ps1 screen doesnt fit. planning same mod with intec screen
external harddisk for v12: CANCELED due to v12 breakdown
window for ps2 dvd-drive mod: in progress

Slims are ok if you put I big external fan on them thats a hassle when you can just get a fattie w/ HD support

I voted V1-V3 with the self-adjusting cog, the "non-soldered" mobo, and an upgraded 400C.

The Slims are a close second; the lasers have little problem with backup media and are significantly easier to mod. Plus, bum lasers don't cost $60 to replace.

Versions 7,9 & 10. I personally own a V9 and it's been modded for 2 yrs, no problems at all. Every V 7,9 and 10 I mod, never had any issues.
