sounds like you bridged the legs of the chip. get some soldering braid and check all your points. that happened to me but my ps2 is toast. good luck on yours
I took off the chip and all the wires. Now the trey ejects and I get audio and video but I get weird noises instead of the ocean sounds. Also when I put in a game it goes back to the browser. I am going to send it back to sony to have them fix/replace it. Hopefully they won't be able to tell I had a chip in it.

sound's like you fried the bios or shorted it the browser and startup graphics are contained in this ic resolder each pi to make sure none are floating slightly touching the board.
is the sound a kind of reverbing of sound's echoed ?

Yes that is exactly what it sounds like.Originally posted by EnTiTy

what chip was it if it had a clk point clean round that area shorted or bad clock connections onboard can cause that effect.

It was a mini apple pro. I wouldn't have a clue which points are which I just fallowed the numbers on a install guide I have.
