Are there any ELF's that can do this? There's no way to get the hard drive temperature? Isn't that kind of thing built-in to certain hard drives, or would you definitely need some kind of Temperature Sensor?

I'm looking for a way to cool my PS2 and those USB temperature fans don't sound all too great. Many have said it's just a waste of money..I'm ready to put my PS2 on a block of ice or something. Okay, maybe not..but I have a fan pointed as my PS2 as I run it now.

I have a cheaper 250 gig HD and it doesn't have great cooling..I'm worried about it. All the threads I've come across are from like 2004/2005, so I'm wondering if there's any newer, better ways of keeping your modded PS2 cool.

that capability in the HDD's which you are talking about is called Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology(S.M.A.R.T technology).. i don know bout alll IDE HDD's but its definitely in SATA/SATA2 HDD's....
