Any Suggestions About A Usenet Account?

Verizon sucks ass and has restricted its usenet account and has left out some important newgroups....hint....hint.... Does anyone have a suggestion about a new Usenet provider? www.100proofnews.com has an offers unlimited up/down for $60/year but i dont know if they're legit. help a brotha out with some comments.

just using yahoo.com. it was the first site to pop-up and the usenet search.

i use www.easynews.com 9.95 for 6 GB. Not to bad, they have all the groups and the speed is awesome...

For my buck www.usenetserver.com (nntp w/Newsbin Pro) is the best.

$15 a month or $40/3 months, unlimited downloads (although I hear if you d/l ridiculous amounts like 20GB a day they'll say something... never happened to me), and regular upgrades to their system. They currently have a good 10 days of retention even in the heaviest groups. I also get maximum speed... about 2.7Mb/sec on a 3mb connection when I have two or more connections going at the same time.

yeah i susucribed to usenetserver too, but whats the best newsgroup program to use, cause i tried newsleecher but i havent got it to work.

You might wanna give Pwergrab 2.5 a try. I feel it is much more simplistic than, say Newsbin. Just one person's opinion. You can get it at http://www.cosmicwolf.com

I'm using Giganews. It's a bit pricey but they carry just about everything and have 30+ days retention.

As for software, I personally think Newsbin sucks. Uses way too much RAM. Take a look at NewsLeecher or Grabit. I use both.
