Another newb with FMCB questions. Already researched.
I know that the last thing most forums need is another newb asking the same questions that have been asked 1000x times so I'll try to be as least obnoxious as possible. I've done hours of research/reading to try and educate myself as much as possible on the matter, but I think I'm experiencing information overload.
What I want is to simply play some .iso backups on my PS2. I originally attempted to order swap-magic and would probably have been happy with that but it seems that it's hard to come across.
Here's what I have:
-Fat PS2 (version 5 from what I can tell)
-Legit network adapter (used it once for it's intended purpose in all the years I've owned it. Nearly shat myself today when I noticed it has an IDE connector on it.)
-Syphon Filter- The omega strain (reported to be compatible by using the netgui.elf file)
-Hard drive (not sure of the size or brand as I'm going to rip it out of an old Tivo, once I actually find it).
-I might have a PS1 game laying around somewhere if needed for the exploit, but I'd have to look really hard for it.
The only thing I think I need is an extra memory card.
So I should be good to go right? I'll give the disc-swap exploit one, maybe 2 tries and if it doesn't work I'm going to use one of the FMCB installers here. No sense in wasting time. If I have a PS1 disc I don't need to worry about using a exploitable game (007 and such), right?
My questions are this:
-Once FMCB are installed on my MC (and the other apps that the newb pack comes with) will I have no trouble using my backup discs?
-Does it matter which slot my FMCB MC is in? I'd rather keep my regular card with all it's saved games virgin and in memory slot #1, keeping the FMCB one in memory slot #2 if possible.
Thanks for the help everyone. Didn't realize this would be so confusing.
