Anamorphic Widescreen DVD's on a PS2 + a 4:3 TV?

Does anybody here watch Anamorphic Widescreen DVD's on a PS2 + a 4:3 TV?

Do you know how to get the PS2 to display the image in the right proportions instead of presenting the skewed image fullscreen?

My DVD should look like this:

But it comes out looking like this:

Can anybody help me with this problem?

stop the movie and go to settings and there you can set pan scan or letterbox.
