When I first modded my V1 5months ago, I was a newbie to soldering. The only thing I soldered to before was a PC motherboard, and the solder points were much easier. I was so scarred during the first mod I couldn't stop my hand from shaking . Of course that resulted in some pretty bad bridging, but I was lucky enough to fix it. Took 4 freaking days for me to do the mod. You guys should have seen how happy I was when I loaded my first DVDR, think it was Suikoden 3 .

Soon after my friend wanted me to mod his PS2 aswell. For a couple months I said NO, but eventually I gave in . I actually think it's harder to solder to a V4 than a V1, but now that I had some more experience the modding was much easier. Took 2 days, but it works perfectly . Man, I think this will be the last PS2 I'm modding. Don't think I'm lucky enough to mod a 3rd with my current soldering skills .

I'm wondering though, WHO the HELL designed the inside of the V4+ PS2's? Have no idea what that person has been smoking! The V1 is built pretty simple, but this V4 was like taking apart a puzzle. I used instructions on the net to take apart the V4, and it's like "unscrew this one screw here, flip it over, do this, flip, do that, flip, flip etc". Like ya sure, this thing is practicly falling apart in my hands I'm suppose to keep flipping it over .

Well it works and it's all over, so I'm going to take a well deserved rest now .

The person probably wanted only experts to open it up....to stop people from modding and stuff i guess.

That also can be typical sony cost cutting. Sony always wants experts to open it so they can prevent modding. Sony always wants to cut costs.

    2 DAYS??

Congrats dude. At least you cut your time in 1/2. Next time should only be 1 day.

My personal V4 M1 install record: 28 mins. That doesn't include disassembly, reassembly or testing.
The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.
