Messiah Modded PS2- I tried EVERY degree on the white dial, nothing. I've been given the suggestion to adjust the voltage. I read a FAQ about it on gamefaqs.com but it was no help so, can someone describe to me how to locate the screws I need?

Since you said white dial and not dials I?ll assume you have a V7 or older. Did you remember the default position when you moved the white dial? If not, look for the little hole, I use that a guide, It?s usually around the 8 to 11 O?clock position.

You absolutely need a tester to check the ohms before and after you move the pot. Do not attempt this without one. Make sure you have cleaned the laser before adjusting. Changing the voltage should only be an absolute last measure after everything else has failed.

To adjust the laser pots first remove the screw holding down the right rod that the laser slides on then lift the laser out carefully and flip it back and over you will see two tiny pots side by side. The DVD pot is closer to the inside. Check the ohms and make a note of the defaults. To check place the 2 tester leads on the 2 little solder points under each pot. It should be around 900-1400 ohms depending on what laser you have. If it?s a 400B do not adjust below 800 Ohms. If you have a 400C you shouldn?t need to be under 1000 ohms. Turn the pot clockwise to lower the resistance, just a tiny turn of a couple degrees will change the Pot by 50-100 ohms and that?s all you want. Test and make sure the adjustment did not go below limits, put laser back in and check with a DVD.

have you got any tips for adjusting the pots on a sanyo 400r laser?
I have cleaned the laser very carefully but it still only plays cd's and some but not many dvd's. I need to know which on is the dvd pot?
