When i reassembled my ps2, i noticed that i had left the blue tack i used when soldering on the ps2 mobo in between the pins, but i didnt think that would matter as it wouldn't conduct. Now, the ps2 boots up, but I don't get a picture or audio. Could the blue tack be causing the pins to be bridged? Thanks

I doubt it. I put bluetack directly onto the board, and mine works perfectly.

Sounds like it could be a bios solder bridge or the connections to the cd\dvd controller points are not good.

What version ps2 do you have?

In the end I soldered to the actual cd/dvd controller pins instead of the alternative via points, as they were a bit fragile for my liking. I'm gonna try some re-soldering, remove the blue-tack, and try it again. Thanks
