Hi to all members
Has any one ever measured the voltage level on 8mb memory card or looked at the pins for data levels. These are some things I found out about the 8mb memory magicgate card.
Example:
1. data
2.data
3. 7vdc
4. gnd
5. 3.6v
7. data
8. data
9. data
Has any one ever investgated this port more then information I have mentioned. I am not interested in magicgate part of it. Just how data is used with the memory card port. Any links or member that has more information on this port could you please post it. As I may use that card in another piece of test equitment. The 8mb memory cards are fairly cheap on ebay.

Well quess I picked the wrong subject. You gamers are only interested in mod chips and games. No ones ever gotten interested how that memory card send the data from the ps2 to the memory card and back an forth in linux. Maybe someone give some info on that.

never really looked into how data is being used, but thanks for the pin outs, now maybe i can install a led on my card that'll blink when data is being transfered.

All I've seen is documentation on the original PSX port, which is a two-way serial connection, using the same bus and wire protocol for both the cards and controllers (of course the command set / logical protocol differs). I haven't heard anything about the physical protocol regarding PS2 cards, although it presumably at least operates at a higher clock speed. A document covering the basics of the PSX protocol is here, though I seem to recall seeing a better one somewhere.
