Got myself a new HD7 laser which I fitted into a v5 (originally a Sanyo -R laser model), it reads CD's fine but DVD's (even originals) just won't work. Even with all the fine tuning (laser azimuth and all that) the best I get it is reckonizing the disc in the browser as authentic.

I vaguely remember a rumour that HD7's won't read back-ups when fitted on a R model PS2, but still originals won't go either.

Anyone???
