why not just connect it to a external power supply. I wouldn't even bother opening up the ps2 and connecting it internal.

use ps3 from white conector side its a 2.3 amp conect a wire from it and a wire from ground and test with system on to see what volts you get also it might be a good idea to see how many amps your LCD takes and what it surges at. You have a lot on your plate i wuld hit flee markets looking for Dead ps2's as you just might kill yours with this endeavor. Good Luck on this one my portible ps2 still has about 60+ hrs till i "get hir done" but no time . My portible Dremcast with tft took me over 3months just working on it when i had no systems. Sold it for $1600USD cost me all of $110 in parts and oodles of man hrs.
Dont blame me when you sytem dies.

you need to test the lcd and see what it surges at .. for the 12v use same side as white conector with large pins coming off of.. But you need to test the LCD and see what it surges at!!

i was just thinking why connect it internally when you can connect it externally and get the same results. when you open up ur ps2 and do a internal mod your more likely to screw something up.
if you look at the specs of the lcd it should tell you the max current it draws. You might also need to look into how much current the ps2 power supply can output. for measureing the max current, use a analogue ammeter, or a digital meter with a hold.
