[IMG] code tags turned off?

For some reason, when I am in certain forums I can't use the [IMG] code tags in my posts, but I can in other forums. At the bottom of my screen it says "[IMG] code is Off" when in certain forums.

Here are the forums where the [IMG] code tag is disabled:

PS2 Game Backup
Online Gaming
PS2 Memory Card Hacking
Memory Card Saves
Playstation/PSone
Cheat Code Hacking
Hacking/Conversion Requests
Code Submissions
The Soapbox

Is this turned off for a reason or some kind of bug?

It uses a lot of bandwith that doesn't needed to be wasted.

If that was true, why would only those forums be limited, and how do you know if that's the reason?

that is true maybe they only limited those cause those are the ones that are most used ive seen numerous other forums that turns off/limits the [IMG] tag

Also to prevent cross site scripting attacks i guess.
