uhhh.... $99? yea right. they're presently $179, down from $199. a likely price drop would be to $149. sony is hardly going to drop the price that low when they have no need to do so, it isnt as if the ps2 is struggling in the market.
149 after thanks givving maybe
i went to walmart the other day all there ps2's was sold out and they had like 1 or 2 gamecubes missing so i belive sony is doing well
price drop is not going to happen....why do they want to make less money when the holiday season is on the corner.
Well seeing as the Christmas season is their most profitable time of year, I wouldn't expect a price drop until after new years. But, considering the Gamecube's success at $99, and the new XBox bundles, there's a good chance of a drop down to the $100 range.
LMAO!!! What planet are you on?Originally posted by dr_kevo

yup, i'm thinking buy the gamecute if it drop to $69
Actually there's even less happening in Europe, as price still stands at 199 Euro, I belive Sony knows that people will pay that price for an excellent game machine, so they don't really wanna lose money. And I can understand their point, well remember the price years ago. I don't really think that 179 usd is that high, especially if you mod your console, hehe you all know what I mean, right ?
regards, Stephen
no, $179 isn't a big deal. the $20 difference is the equivalent of a greatest hits game, a controller, a memory card, whatever.
what's likely to happen if a pricedrop doesn't occur, is various bundles on sale, which is what happened last christmas. stores were selling $199 bundles with a "starter kit" with cable extenders, a dvd remote, and third party controller. some places had deals for $220 with travel cases and a controller, and i remember some that were $240 that had a controller and like 2 games.
