LG GDR-8164B DVD-ROM Drive IDE not realizing that since i got a new computer it does not have the hooks ups for the ide, so i was wondering what kind of adapter can i buy to i can use it ?
you can get an ide to usb adapter mate there about £10 but if you just want to rip the games you have onto a external hard drive most usb loaders will do that for you
Its not onto a external drive, im just trying to install my dvd drive in my pc so i can back up my existing games on my pc..

The other thing is i dont have a external hard drive
if you want to back up and play your wii games an external hard drive is best way to do it, it doesnt have to be a very big one as most wii games are around 3gb or smaller ive got a 500gb drive and its no where near filled, but for your disk drive i think the easiest way would be to run it as an external disk drive just to save all the hassle
best use usb hdd, games will loading faster than drive.
backup via lg dvd drive takes ages. use external hd its saves u a lot of time
They want the drive for ripping games not burning. Most DVD drives can't rip Wii games. LG DVD-ROM drives are one of the few that can read a Wii game. If you have a Wii made before 2008 then you can use that to rip your games. I recommend Configurable USB Loader. Not only can it rip games but it can load them from SD, USB or DVD.
