There are fews possibles reasons:
somes games/ homebrews were created with old SDK (or psl1ght) , so basically nothing (easy) can be done.
Others games can be protected against remote play or more often, the introduction video s codecs: fews tricks/ solutions are still possible (from skipping/ replacing the introduction video, setting resolutions or editing the SFO more deep)
For the last solution, Sandungas (he s the real deal about SFO) found a possible way to activate a specific HD remote play for vita but no one really seems to care or are waiting for more informations to release under theirs sets of tools :facepalm: (without giving him credits )
can you post the link to Sandungas post regarding ps vita remote play and possible edit of .sfo, i would like to read and ingest

When you edit your sfo, there are what we call Attribut, like psp remote play, music in game and others you can see on that board.
But somes of them are still unknown. If you want to edit your sfo and activate somes of them, like what is suppose to be "ps vita remote play hd" , you ll need to edit with hexa editor (current homebrew or official tool leaked don t have that option)

So if Sandungas (just click on history of this page and you will see he did pretty much 99% of this page, and he was him to add that possible flag) don t know for sur that flag will really make effect, it s less or more because he don t have ps vita (so can not be for sur 100%) and no one is welling to test for him (even there are nothing dangerous, but still peoples in general don t want to use 5mn of their time)
I don t have ps vita also, i wasting hours and hours with somes peoples, to explain, to make special sfo with that flag ( and everything i tested before on psp or ps3 just for the sake of it) but only one person answered and say: " may be it s better, at least i don t have sound problem anymore"...
If you want more details (the page was recently heavily changed and need more time to be more simple to understand) i can tell you or even make sfo for you but:
take 5mn to answer and if there are any credits to got, it s Sandungas who should receive.
Sandungas explain more in details SFO file in other web site but for the purpose of VITA remote HD, i can do the job here and explain enough and tell which games should be better to try and see if there are any effect (because it s not like you ll got a message pop up on your xmb or vita saying it s working)

Both articles are very interesting read. I understand some but not all of it. I tried removing intro videos and replacing them with my own but still no dice. I would very much like to try your suggestion of an edited .sfo as you described if you could do this for me. I'm more than happy to test remote play feature for you or sundangas

Post the title and title_ID (like BLUS12345) (or even the SFO files for quickedit and it ll make you a online back up) of fews games you got somes problems during remote play with vita (sounds, black screen, crash, return to xmb, or got a lot of pixels or Sony games such as little big planet) here or PM me (so we can confirm or not if this N7 flag make somes effect or not)
Not necessary games you really want to play for the moment.
Or i can explain more in details if you want to edit yourself the sfo (you will need one hexa editor)..it s not hard but the page is still in progress (and not really clear right now), and it s also according to your time, interest or previous experience with hexa.
(sorry in advance but in case other readers, i prefer to explain more than necessary in general)

for differents reasons (like fw or eboot) the sfo flag N7 remote hd vita can be real but it ll not affect all the game (for example, you can edit the classic remote play for psp on SFO homebrew such as paintown or puzzles from Kakarotok but you ll got black screens/crash because the eboot is the problem, not the SFO and what you edited)
i have 2 titles to try, first : God of war 3 BCES 00799 AND LBP 2 BCES 00850
i understand that ps vita remote play uses flag no.8 am i right in thinking that we don't know what exactly it uses in terms of attributes or how its used?
also that we cannot understand all of its functions yet as it was only implemented in fw 4.0 which has yet to be jailbroken or keys gained.
so if we cannot incorporate this flag yet into fw 3.55 .sfo can we not use the psp flags 1 and 3 and inject them into the .sfo files in the games i mentioned? we could compare ps3 games that run with the ps vita remote play and change the relevant hex?
also remote play function at the minute on the ps3 scales down the resolution to either 1080,720,576 etc... could we not change the resolution within the .sfo to ps vita native resolution to 960x544 so no up or down scaling needed? I'm thinking that at the minute games on vita using remote play when using mobile registration on ps3 looks blurry and not detailed.

The flag N8 is not sur ll have effect on VITA (because can be not yet implemented on 3.55 or even not related) but Sandungas found this flag used by a update of Torne (it s Japanese recorder TV you plug on your ps3, the update describe Torne can now stream to VITA on HD ...)
I m currently testing fews things around psp and ps3, about flag N8 (more or less sur it s about ps3 resolution/ scalling when the game start ) to avoid useless test from your side.
About resolution within SFO as you can see there are flags directly related to it:

And there are still a lot of flags can be use:
For example, by editing the 1byth as 01 00 00 00 (little endian value 40) or even 10 00 00 00 (80)
When you get use to edit SFO directly from hexa, you ll find easily every value. Can be a good try to test them (Ps3 debug have others resolutions than retails, so it can be only working on debug)
Attribut flags are really tricky, some will not work acording to others flags, or only for fews games, FW and so.
I m not so sur about your idea of incorporate SFO flag N1 and 3 but since the SFO file isn t encrypted, someone with 2 ps3 or a way to downgrade can test (with PSN type of games)
But you got right by saying we should compare games updates (but we need more infos, such as which games dont work on remote play on 3.55 and if it work on 4.0+)
If for example, Little Big planet 2 don t work on 3.55 but work (or will) work on 4.00 there are 2 possibility:
Sony just activated SFO (flag N8 or something else) and if we are lucky it ll work also on 3.55 or they patched more things (eboot/ sprx etc..) and it will not (clearly) easy to got the game working on remote play 3.55
Fews test after, i think there are difference between crash when using remote play (so the game or homebrew wasn t created with proper SDK) and return to xmb ( resolution or protection problem)
I ll make more test from my side and ll send you SFO with flag N8 by PM or here by editing
