At the moment I am running 1.80 and I was wondering if I should update to 2.00. I wasnt able to get ahold off any of the exploited games, needed to get cfw on 1.80 and I was also wondering if the next cfw will come for 1.80 or for 2.00. I want to get cfw as soon as possible, so please answer. Should I update?

Who knows?, what you are asking itīs not something that someone knows, exploits appear as fast as they vanish, itīs not like someone has the exploits ready and itīs just waiting for the right date to release them, so in short, when a exploit goes out it will be on the main page, not sooner, maybe later but not sooner. Not being mean or anything but get your facts staright, the developers are working at their own time looking for exploits, itīs not like they made them appear out of thin air or create them when need it, it needs research, patience, luck and mostly time, just wait for the news.

Yes I do respect the developers creating the exploits! All I was asking was if I should update to 2.00 because I was wondering if the next cfw was going to come for 1.80 or for 2.00?

There is a method of updating to 1.81 instead of 2.0 which is what I recommend because psn is still accessable on 1.81 and there is a small chance(highly unlikely) that sony will put one of the exploitable games back up before blocking psn access on 1.81, also if a new exploitable game is named then there's a good chance they will port eCFW to it so eCFW isn't completely dead yet as long as you update to 1.81

Thanks, for the reply Shaitan, I am extremely new to the PS Vita cfw concept, I got my PS Vita yesterday. About your reply, how do I update to 1.81 instead of 2.0, and what is eCFW? Lastly, could you explain what the difference between homebrew and cfw is? And this may be a little far off but why would Sony put another exploitable game on PSN? Sorry for all the questions, but thankful for all the replies!

I don't have everything needed to update to 1.81 instead of 2.00 because I've never needed to but go to wololo.net and sign up to the forum and they should be able to help. eCFW is CFW for the psp emulator inside the Vita, there isn't a CFW for the Vita yet it's just a psp CFW that can't do anything outside the psp emulator. CFW is a modified firmware which lets you run un-signed code, making it possible to run game backups and homebrew, homebrew is just a name for community made games and programs. And the reason another exploitable might be released is because sony has no idea which games can be exploited.
