    Hi,

I have an issue with showtime (4.0).

It crashes everytime I go to my network folder on my PC (Win7) to play a mkv file.

I have no choice but to FTP eveything over to the PS3.

Any idea what might be causing that?

    maybe too high of quality?

idk. try just putting in on some sort of external drive and test it out like that to see if it works like that. it could be showtime 4.0, i have some slight issues with it and i can't wait for another testing release.
Never there but always going back

Use the latest showtime 4.01.***. If the problem presists - delete the metadb information - it causes the crash.

I've updated to the latest Showtime version. The error still presists.

In Showtime, go to Settings and find the option to clear the cache/mdb - it should fix the problem.

Yes, I cleared the cache. Still crashes when I go to my MOVIE folder on my PC. Other folders work with avi.

I even created a new folder, shared it, put one MKV file in it, opening it in showtime would crash and kick me to XMB.

Keep in mind, that it never worked.

    Hi guys,
I am very new to all this so please bear with me ;-) I want to stream 720p MKV files from my Windows 8 laptop to my PS3 which is running Showtime. The PS3 is wired to my router and the laptop is then on the same network but using WiFi.

I have all my movies etc. in a folder which is shared out on the laptop using normal Windows folder sharing but how do I get Showtime to see this folder? This is the part that has me stumped!? Do I need to install something like XBMC on the laptop and then Showtime on the PS3 will see this or is there a simpler way to get it up running? I am assuming of course that Showtime can stream like this? Up to now I have been putting everything on a USB pen drive or USB HDD and plugging that into the PS3 and it's starting to get annoying.......I would much much rather be able to steam directly.

    All the best,
    Mark
