NEW! Multiman runing PS3 game from DVD-R!!!!

Hey guys, take a look this.

Tomorow i update my multiman to 2.07.02 to try the bl movie capability, and after i had an idea to put the content of the game into a DVD and try to run thought the file manager.

And this happenings, the game is startup and i could access de menu, but in the loading i dont know why its freezing.

But i waiting for news releases of the multiman we can do this much better. where is the erro: in the multiman or in the bluray emulator?

Its a dream run games via DVD or BL.

Can someone do this work?

Hmmm, you seem to have multiman & PSN on the same machine. Anyone else find this odd or have I missed something?

He isn't connected to PSN.

Well you can already run PS3 backups from blu ray, and have since the start.
Interesting to see you can boot part of a game off of DVD.

but I don't really see the practical use in this anyway, most games would be too big for standard blank DVDs, and dual layer DVDs are fairly expensive.
Plus even then with dual layer you're limited to 8.5gb.
For about 20 writable dual layer DVDs, you could get a 1TB external usb HDD.
Not to mention the hassle of messing around with discs, i.e storing them, burning them, labeling them...

off course that i don't use psn on my jailbroken ps3.

It's just a screen with some itens of psn.

I dont think that the price of one dvd dual layer is expensive like that, and many games can be burned it a dvd.

The price of bl recorder is lower while time pass, so in close time we can burn ps3 games into a bl-r. i think this can be true soon.

I really can't see the point of running PS3 games of discs at all when both internal and external HDDs are so cheap????

I totally agree. Using a hard drive is preferable in every way. Why would you want to use DVDs?

Simple, out of brazil HDD is really most cheap, but here in the "jungle" is more confortable copy / change games in disc.

How many time you expend to put a game into hdd? and after to copy from your hdd to another. No way.

If the game is on DVD or BL disc the copy is more easy.

The Xbox360 is more cool because with 5 dollars i can buy a game and dont need to download and put them into my HDD.

why we can't run games from disc?

I hate the multiman progress bar: i cannot make nothing while i copy a game.

wtf are you talking about?...Ps3 games can't be put on dvd-rs...there is no dvd disc is big enough to hold a ps3 game. For that matter it can't be read either...even if it could be put onto a dvd. They are blueray based...the ps3 alone most likely could never read it anyway.
