I was able to use multiman and ftp games to the internal drive, now I am trying to load/play off external drive.
    1. formatted external 2tb 7200 drive with fat 32
    2. Created PS3 folder with the following SUBdirectories (game, photo, music, video)
    3. Copied games into the game folder (where the folder below the actual game is the ps3_update folders etc)
    4. Launched multiman, didnt see games immediately under "game" section, tried refresh. Then went to the file manager and it sees the hard drive and correct folders etc. I also tried the switch between pfs and ntfs option and that just seems to get stuck in a "refresh" status...The refresh icon keeps spinning in the top right corner and nothing ever happens.

    What am I missing here?

    Thanks!

Change the game folder to GAMES or GAMEZ then put game in it. Example /usb drive/GAMES/BLES12345

You said you formated the external to fat32 so you don't need to try to use the ntfs driver for that drive.

Like whompus stated you need to change your directory, what you are doing is completely wrong. To have multiMan detect your games you need to create a folder on the root directory of your hard drive called GAMEZ then followed by the game folder itself
    Example
X(USB DRIVE)/GAMEZ/Game folder ID (BLUS, BLES, etc) No NTFS driver neede since you formatted your drive to fat32.

Ah, much better - thanks guys! A few of the games I tried launching said it required firmware 3.56 or 3.60 would you like to update the .sfo for 3.55, I am guessing I hit yes and that "tricks" the game into letting you play it on the older 3.55 firmware? I just wanted to be sure!

Yes, it does 'trick' the game into letting you, but it doesn't always work.

Most 3.60 games wont work except a very few, all of the 3.56 games should work except usually they need a different eboot which you can make with Multimans ebootmod tool or go to the eboot bin repository thread and see if there is already one made.
