New to CFW 3.55 - help needed

Hey,

So today I updated to CFW 3.55 after being on 3.41 w/ dongle ever since the PS3 Scene came to life.

I am unsure as to what to install, and whether my compatibility will be the same or not?

Currently, I am contemplating installing multiMAN, however I am wondering if I will need to install anything else alongside multiMAN in order to have compatibility with backups, etc.

Obviously with 3.41, you didn't need to install anything but the package, however I don't know if this is the same in 3.55.

If anyone could lead me to a quick tutorial or something as to how to set up the basics for 3.55, it would be appreciated.

Just put the pkg file you want to install (in this case multiman oder gaia manager) into the root of an FAT32 USB stick.
Plug the stick into your PS3.
Go to install pkg, than the fill occupire and you have to install it. Finished
I had never een on 3.41 but I think it should be the same..

welcome to 3.55 !!

So ya there shouldn't be any problem with your backups,
except maybe if you have games with a patched eboot for 3.41.
In that case just search the web for the original eboots
of those, should not be too hard to find.
it really is easier on 3.55 in general.

Contrary to what the other 2 have told you yes you will need to make sure you install BDEMU2 along w/ the latest multiMAN, you might also have to replace your edited EBOOTs with the originals

what is an eboot? I installed CFW 3.55. So far, I've only been using my ps3 with showtime to watch .mkv files. I want install multiman and play backups. what else do I need other than multiman?
