Ok,this thing is getting me crazy,really...

I've got a 1tb Western Digital Elements ext hard drive, with one single partition formatted in ntfs.

With multiman 2.00.03 with default options and without bdemu installed everything works fine, multiman sees the hard drive and i can copy any content to the ps3.

With every version released after the 2.00.03 the ps3 hangs when i switch to the pfs driver and i have to hard-reset the console.I tried everything, installing, reinstalling, with and without bdemu.

Now i tried to connect the hd through an usb hub to the ps3...and it works flawlessly with every multiman version

    Maybe this will help

i did some other tests...unfortunately the transfer rate (even if the usb hub is 2.0) is awful, only 1Mb/sec instead of 35Mb/sec with the hd connected directly to the ps3
